Bye bye prosumer hello DSLR
To me, result matters a lot more than the technical specification and I’m glad it performed! Oh, I was talking about the Canon EOS 450D I bought today.
It’s an obvious upgrade, obviously. The speedy-procedure alone could make me high for years - I used to spend a full minute or two trying to get the focus right and what not with S2IS, now it’s just literally a few flicks and I get to hit 3 good shots in a second.
Here’s another example what S2IS can’t do.

An actual photo of a basketball game going on, after 7pm! Amazing! I mean, S2IS can never get this kind of sport shot when it’s dark even with flash, especially after 6.30pm. I never went for any night games to take photos because I can’t take photos with S2IS at night. Now I can. Hehe.
So now, my S2IS is officially partially-retired. I’ll still use it when I need some serious zooming power. Only have kit lens for 450D now. More photos from 450D (mostly candid):

Very hazy today, as you can see from the last photo, so nothing great produced today. Still I’m happy what this puppy can do. Can’t wait to find a superb subject!

I like the 2nd and 3rd shot.

hey there. i’m currently debating on which DSLR to pick up. 450D whhich you’ve obtained, and the 40D. What made you choose the 450D? hope you can find some time to give some of your personal opinion. thanks!

It’s the price
I was told 40D is about RM1,000 more expensive than 450D.
And because it has 12 megapixel (40D is 10.1mp) with the same CMOS processor. But I’m sure 40D has some technical edge over 450D even though I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the ISO, maybe it’s the frame rate per second. *shrugs*
