Whatever
I deleted a very unpleasant comment in my blog. Someone called me less than a noob and useless in photography, I removed it because it had a lot of foul words.
I don’t care, actually. No, really, I don’t.
*a don’t-care face*
Here’s a photo of KL Tower I took not very long ago.
…

Okay, I do care. Just not enough to make me lose some sleep over it.
Dear matt-something, I won’t say your full name and bash you openly because I’m a kind person, even though you are a snob who can’t accept the fact that I get more praises than you did in major photography forums. All you have is technical know how like pinpointing exactly why one camera is better than another. Camera specification wise the photos you took are nice, but the only message they sent was - like many established professionals told you in forums before - you should had invested more money in photography lessons than gears.
Photography is subjective most of the time, which is why I never really bothered trying to compare who is a better photographer. Grow up, you’ll see my point, and you might just learn how to take better photos too.

hi joyce. as you know, i’m a fan of your blog, and your photography. i do not agree with matt that you’re a noob and all the other foul stuff. but objectively speaking, i think you’ve missed the point of his anger. he’s mostly furious because he feels his model friend has been tricked and is being unfairly treated with overdue payments.
i browsed the lowyat forum, and i think he does have reason to be pissed. best to resolve issues from projects you went into before employment asap. i don’t believe employment is any excuse to delay what you promised and still owe to other people.

Hi Joyce, never mind what the other ’small’ people say. It hurts to read them but you did good. Some people make others feel bad because they themselves feel insecure and hope to drag others along with them. I know you won’t play their game.

steph: I know, that was my fault for not clearing it up before, but the issue was solved days ago. No one really bothered to ask what’s really going on (it’s just a click away in that forum) especially those involved, and just decide to make their own story with what they know which is very little. One even accused me of molesting the models.
I used to think lowyat forum photography section is a good place to chill despite having a few low points. Apparently now the discrimination base on age, race (yes, ever wonder why it’s always the few people out on gathering?), gender, and equipment is too much for me to accept. And I’m amazed by what extent they would go just to vent about something totally unrelated. Like saying I’m worthless when it comes to photography just because I was careless on handling the refund.
Alice: thanks for the word of comfort
EDITED: Just for the record, I did told the model I’ll need time to sort things out first since I’m approaching the turning point in my life too fast. I wonder why only this particular detail was left out in all different kind of stories told regarding the matter.

Nowadays people walk in to those studio for photo shooting, do they ever ask “what lesson u taken?” “you came from which University?”
Photography is about Skill, Potential, Experience..
Yet Good n Nice photo is not only that, is also including batter GEAR~
Have you push your camera body and your kitlens to the limit where other people tot that u using 40D or 1Ds and some damn expensive lens??
I had push my 400D n 18-55mm f3.5-f5.6 to the limit before~~

I’ve pushed my S2 IS to the point where people thought I’m using a DSLR. At that rate I don’t need a DSLR to put 1D MkIII to shame.
Anything else you want to compare?

how about your 450D?
Dont ever compare ur S2 IS with any EOS, is totally no fight…

Are you saying S2 IS is a better camera than any EOS series camera, or the other way around?
Either is fine for me. If you think S2 IS is no match against any EOS series camera, then it’s obvious that I went to the further end of limit than you did. If you do think S2 IS is a better camera than any EOS camera series… *shrugs*.
Oh, I just got my 450D two days ago, by the way. Shutter count still hovering around 20 or so. And where’s the apology you owe me?

a good photo needs good camera. A good camera needs a good photographer. A good photographer needs excellent skills. Excellent skills comes from talent and experience. and overall, a good photo comes from a photographer with priceless excellent skills.
That, is from my point of view.

haha tbh everyone will have their own point of view. as for me, those are some nice skies! great effect!
as for the kit lens, i tested it out too and find it a little on the normal range for my taste ;_;
so gonna forgo the 40D, get the 450D, and try to get a better lens. gonna forgo a lot of other eqp for the time being. to me, a good lens is more important of an investment. that’s just me
then need lots of practise tweaking that body to get the “feel” that i like
tried to compare to nikon, but the feel just wasn’t there for me ;_; my friend loved his nikon but i just…can’t like it lol >.<
