Girls in high school uniform - Conclusion
note: Post re-evaluated and edited on 6th of July, 2008, 11pm.

2 weeks of preparation, 3 hours of fast pace photo shooting, and 1 awesome moment. Some may not see it the same way I did, but I will still declare it a fucking successful not-bad-for-a-first-timer event.
Pardon the language. Tend to swear when I’m over excited. And high on caffeine.
It all started with a great day. Nice cooling weather. I enjoyed my long drive to fetch the models in the morning. But because of some untold reason, one of the girls was late, and the event was forced to postpone, to start at 10.00am.
13 isn’t such an unlucky number, really. The photographers waited patiently for us to arrive. They didn’t cast nasty voodoo spell on us (I hope) just because we were behind the schedule. A great bunch of people. All 13 of them.
They were arranged into 3 groups, each group had 1 model for an hour or so. The transitions throughout the event went way smoother than I expected. We managed to finish everything within 3 hours despite starting late.
I have to admit: I’m an attention whore. I love the attention these groups were getting during the sessions. Heads turned and people were wondering if we are doing some magazine cover shooting.
Being the manager I had to walk around to make sure everything goes fine, so I didn’t take any planned portraits of the models at all. But the look on people’s face made it all worth while. I genuinely enjoy having people enjoying my event, my show.
While most things went well - some even great - there were some regrettable moments made worse by us (me and the models) arriving late, like people had to leave early because of work or other reasons. Like Zio, who never had the chance to be with more than 1 model.
But overall it’s a satisfying and memorable day. Great models and great photographers. Total awesomeness. Will be updating this post with testimonials and photos after getting adequate amount of rest.
Model shooting at Bukit Jalil organized by zzloo

myjunk and his DIY gears. We were finding the next good spot for photo shooting.
1. I was ignored most of the time because I’m a stranger to the group, and I assume it had something to do with me using Canon Powershot S2IS. I’m not mad. I suspect some purposely ignored me because I take photos as nice or better as theirs, and they are the one with the lenses and what not. I would like to see their facial expression when Beverly say my photos suck in front of them.
2. I think poison - a term they use to describe a situation where one’s decision to get more gears is induced by another photographer - is just an excuse to cover their laziness in learning better skills. Having better equipments don’t grant you better skills overnight, but they certainly make life easier.
3. I will not jump into the DSLR bandwagon anytime soon because there’s still a lot of things I haven’t learn. And because I can’t afford one now.
Okay, let’s proceed with photos. I will display only 1 or 2 photos of each models.

The not so peaceful walk
Event: Peace walk by GERAMM (www.geramm.org) regarding the new fuel price
Venue: Sogo (Last station of the peace walk)
Time: 3pm, but they reached there at a much later time.

A member of GERAMM (www.geramm.org) was arrested after the supposedly peace walk.
Petaling Street photography outing organized by Tim

A stranger posing voluntarily for a portrait.
I prefer street photography more than studio one because you can’t (usually) set things up few hours before you want to take the shot. Random people will be doing things that seemed random in our eyes, and the challenge to find that moment then capture it in pixels brings endless thrills.
… Okay, I’ll admit that’s not the main reason why I prefer street photography.
The main reason would be leveling the playing field against DLSR cameras; In broad daylight my S2IS can shoot pretty decent photos with just ISO50 at shutter speed not less than 1/500.
Enough camera talk, and let’s proceed with the photos I took.

Blogger’s Tea Party at D’lish in The Village Fest
note: I’m experimenting with new style. No more frames and watermark on photos. More photos, less words.

The Village Fest at Bangsar Village.
It looked more like a gypsy fest at first glance. No kidding. Fortune tellers were everywhere and people were singing or dancing.
I was there to attend another Advertlets’ event - Blogger’s Tea Party at D’lish. Itenary: Tea time with fellow bloggers, camwhoring session, followed by adjourning to check out the rest of the activities at Bangsar Village. I left right after the camwhoring session. Sorry Josh!
